Site Requirements for Concrete Delivery Trucks

Before scheduling your concrete delivery, it’s important to ensure your site can safely accommodate our delivery vehicles. Our fleet includes trucks capable of delivering between 6 and 8 cubic metres of concrete, with our largest vehicle measuring approximately 8.7 metres long, nearly 3 metres wide, and 4 metres in height, weighing up to 32 tonnes when fully loaded.

To prepare your site:

  • Ensure Adequate Access: There must be enough space for the truck to manoeuvre easily and reach the pour location. Check that all access roads and site entrances are wide enough and free of obstructions.
  • Solid Ground: Delivery trucks are heavy, so the ground must be stable and able to support the full weight to avoid getting stuck or causing damage.
  • Overhead Clearance: Make sure there are no low-hanging branches, cables, or overhead structures that could impede the truck’s 4-metre height.
  • Space to Operate: Allow extra room for the truck to park and extend any necessary chutes or equipment for unloading.

If access is tight or the pour location is difficult to reach, consider arranging a concrete pump. Pumps are especially useful for larger projects or where time and accessibility are key concerns.

Please note, there are 20-25 wheel barrow loads of concrete in 1m3, so a pump can really reduce your labour costs when moving concrete and are essential for sites which must be kept clean and tidy.
